They Bought A House and Made A Home

If you are looking to buy a home and this story doesn't motivate you I don't know what will.  This is one of my favorite stories about a team of buyers, Realtors, and contractors not taking no for an answer.

I remember looking for homes with Mic and Wendy some promised to be great but sadly disappointed until we came upon this home.  The home was in a great location with large rooms offering charm and character but there was work to be done.  If only I could image what they saw this home could be.

We went into contract somewhere around September and they wanted to be home for Christmas.  We negotiated, installed a septic system, and I will never forget the day I drove up to find Mic with his crew painting the exterior of the house in 25 degrees to meet the requirements of the lender.   I am still impressed at how they worked together in unfavorable conditions without a harsh word silently saying to each other, "If you're in to the end so am I."  While Mic did the labor Wendy, a fine photographer I have to mention, was on the phone making sure the transaction was proceeding to close for her desired closing day.  Through laughter, very loud conversations, and some tears we managed to close on December 23rd!

I have seen the great they job did on the interior with the custom made staircase and beautiful beamed ceiling living room in a wonderful shade of red displaying black and white photos by Wendy.  Did I get the color right Wendy?  And recently although not in person the fabulous exterior remodel.  My clients and now friends are amazing.

How we first saw the home.

Before the amazing remodel.

Beautiful Finish.

Bet the neighbors are thrilled.
Imagine what Mic can do for you then make it come true.

The Start of a Gentleman's Farm

The Start of a Gentleman's Farm.  If it's not about the ocean, it's about the land!  We're fortunate to have both.
What could you do here? For Sale
Sometimes it is funny where your life's path leads you.  A short background history is warranted here.  I have never raised any kind of farm animals however my honey always has farmed around here and there.  We've always shared the ocean so here is the story of the land.

It started with a few Quail which starting laying eggs.  So you know what came next - hatching the eggs.   I kept saying the eggs are never going to hatch and to my surprise the first batch, is that what you call it - a batch, did hatch. I don't know why I was surprised but I now know why I was amazed.

OK, the first hatch was supervised but life goes on and work has to be done so that's when it happened.  I am left alone and they keep on coming.  Oh, did I mention in the meantime Bobwhite and Chicken eggs were added to the incubator to be hatched which are all hatching at the same time.  I'm freaking out and he is leaving!

From incubator to box and incubator to box and incubator to box the day went pretty well.  I have to tell you it is nerve racking picking up little tiny birds that are minutes old but they pretty much take care of themselves.  It is crazy amazing that in a few minutes from the egg they have fluffy feathers, are eating and drinking.  They appear to grow before your eyes.

As much as I have to admit it was an incredible experience, one I won't forgot, however I think I'll farm like I fish.  Enjoying, observing, experiencing while offering a little help.  It will be interesting were it goes from here.

Home Buyers Rhode Island and Massachusetts

ImageChef.com - Custom comment codes for MySpace, Hi5, Friendster and more

The most disappointing thing I have heard this year has to be:

I Don't Want to Waste Your Time.

Especially if you are considering buying a home and here are some reasons why:
  • I still believe one of the American dreams is home ownership and I am here to help you make that a reality not just a dream.
  • Buying a home is the most exciting and in most cases biggest purchase you will make. I continually educate myself on the changes in the real estate market to keep you informed so your purchase is as pleasant and as streamline as possible.
  •  I don't want to believe that this has become the customer's opinion of the real estate profession of which I am so passionate about.
If you really, really want to buy a house this is what I am asking you to do:

Call Me and Let's Figure it Out Together

How we begin:
  • Define the criteria of your home search.  Identify location and sort out needs vs. wants.
  • Determine your price range which requires getting pre-approved.  Your loan originator is there to help you also.  They will explain different types of loans, required documentation, and how to resolve issues such as credit scores or lack of credit to determine when you will be able to purchase.
  • Look at homes and get you into contract on your dream home.  As I often tell my clients this is the easy part now the work begins but hard work results in big rewards.
I appreciate your consideration and concern however I hope you now see you haven't wasted my time at all in fact quite the contrary.  You have allowed me the opportunity to work together with mutual respect and sincerity in finding your new home.  Most importantly you took the first step towards finding the answer you deserve to know.  Whether you are ready today, tomorrow, next month, or next year I look forward to the day I say to you:

Free buyer represenation in any price range.  Call me @ 401-369-1766 or e-mail lgtiv@aol.com to get started today.

Talk Soon,
Lisa

Waterfront Home Sakonnet River Tiverton, RI

When this new waterfront listing appeared on the MLS, like a mutual glance in a crowded room, it was love at first sight.  The unique style, intriguing picturesque location with finely manicured grounds, and spectacular ocean views lured me in like a description from a story book of a fantasy which suddenly came true.

Bursting with excitement upon discovering this home was included on the Broker Tour I anxiously anticipated my first view.   Floating over the threshold of the inviting front door, welcomed like a hug from along lost friend, it was more than I imaged it to be not knowing the best was yet to come.

Proudly boasting a private beach I headed outside.  Strolling through yard to the waterfront camera images flashed in my head of sounds from delighted children playing and gatherings with family and friends.  Standing on the shore I thought to myself this is truly coastal living at it's best.

Buyers that share a passion for waterfront homes can contact me at 401-369-1766 or goingcoastalri@gmail.com .  Wonderful homes in wonderful Rhode Island coastal communities are available at prices that haven't been offered in years.

Tiverton, RI
Fogland Beach

Growing up in Tiverton I have many memories of Fogland Beach. My family would spend time at the beach every summer. My aunt had a Rambler station wagon which we fondly called the beach wagon. I remember piling in with my cousins and heading to Fogland. My grandparents taught us how to Quahog at that very beach and now I find myself sharing this beautiful place with my grandchildren. I recall saying someday I will live here. Although I don't live in the Fogland area of town I don't live far away along the shore of another wonderful place. I'll tell you more about that place in the future but for now I don't want you to miss a golden opportunity at this, in my opinion, five star place.
